The REFRESH project has been invited to join the IEA Wind Task 45 General Assembly in the UK on 14-15 November. The meeting is being hosted by the National Composites Centre (NCC) in Bristol.

The IEA Wind Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) is an international network that shares information and research activities to advance wind energy deployment. IEA Wind Task 45: Recycling Wind Turbine Blades brings key stakeholders together to identify the barriers and mitigation strategies for the implementation of large-scale wind turbine blade recycling solutions.

IEA Wind Task 45 focuses on producing tangible results such as recommended practices and guidelines. Key topics include:

• the technical aspects of recycling;
• the blade life cycle and value chain;
• the standards and legislation framing wind turbine blade recycling activities.

The General Assembly in November will feature updates about the activities in IEA Wind Task 45 and workshops on Recycling Value Chains and Blade Design for Recycling. There will also be a session dedicated to ongoing recycling projects and initiatives, where the REFRESH blade recycling project will be presented by project coordinator Daniel Grisenti from RINA Consulting.
